Enhancing Accessibility in AI-Powered Planning

Dayshape is a leading AI-powered workforce planning platform used by professional services firms worldwide. As Dayshape expanded its feature set, the team recognised the importance of making their platform accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.

Our goal was to ensure it met the needs of international businesses and complied with key accessibility standards, including the European Accessibility Act (EAA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and EN 301 549 - ensuring everyone can benefit from advanced AI planning tools.

Our Approach

The complexity of workforce planning software can create barriers for users with visual, motor, or cognitive impairments. Dayshape wanted to ensure their platform met or exceeded WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards, providing equal access to all features and information.

We conducted a comprehensive accessibility audit, identifying risks and providing detailed, code-level recommendations to improve usability for people with disabilities. Key areas of focus included:

  • Keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility
  • Clear, consistent labelling and instructions
  • Sufficient colour contrast and scalable text
  • Accessible AI-driven features, such as predictive scheduling and reporting

We worked closely with Dayshape’s product and development teams, providing actionable recommendations and hands-on support throughout the process. To support long-term accessibility, we developed a tailored training programme for Dayshape’s product teams, covering:

  • Specialised courses for designers, developers, managers, and QA testers.
  • Empathy-building workshops, delivered in-person and remotely, reinforcing the importance of inclusive digital experiences.

We also collaborated on a strategic roadmap, providing clear steps to achieve compliance and embed accessibility best practices into product development.
