Committed to Ethical Practices: Ensuring Transparency and Integrity in Our Business and Supply Chains
User Vision is committed to the principles of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to ensuring that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and other forms of exploitation have no place within our business, partner relationships or supply chain. While our company is not required to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 as our turnover does not exceed £36m, we voluntarily adopt its principles to support ethical business practices.
Definitions
User Vision considers that modern slavery encompasses:
- human trafficking
- forced work, through mental or physical threat
- being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse of the threat of abuse
- being dehumanised, treated as a commodity or being bought or sold as property
- being physically constrained or to have restriction placed on freedom of movement.
Our Commitment
User Vision acknowledges the principles and responsibilities in relation to tackling modern slavery and commits to supporting the provisions in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. User Vision understands that this requires an ongoing review of both its internal practices in relation to its own staff and its suppliers.
User Vision strictly adheres to the standards required in relation to its responsibilities under relevant employment legislation in the United Kingdom. No internal User Vision staff nor contracted services provided to User Vision is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. We fully support the essence of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and strive to:
- Operate with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings.
- Ensure our suppliers, contractors, and partners adhere to ethical labour practices.
- Identify and mitigate risks of modern slavery within our operations and supply chain.
Our Approach
User Vision carries out due diligence in relation to ensuring slavery and/or human trafficking does not take place in its organisation or supply chains. We have not conducted any business with other organisations which have been found to have involved with modern slavery. Our approach includes:
1. Policy and Governance:
We recognise and follow the principles of this Modern Slavery Policy Statement to formalise our commitment to ethical labour practices. It is reviewed annually by our management team to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
2. Supplier Expectations:
We expect all suppliers and partners to uphold the same commitment to ethical labour practices. We may conduct due diligence, including requesting evidence of compliance with anti-slavery and human trafficking measures.
3. Reporting and Accountability:
Any concerns regarding modern slavery or unethical labour practices can be reported to the company Directors. Reports will be investigated promptly, and appropriate action will be taken.
4. Employment and HR:
We undertake previous employment reference checks for employees and contractor references are obtained from the source agency. We also check employee identity/right to work in the UK on the individual’s first day. All employees and associates are paid above the minimum wage. Policies are also communicated in our Company Handbook.
5. Continuous Improvement:
We are committed to continually improving our practices to prevent modern slavery. This includes staying informed of best practices and regulatory developments.
