Another Year, another great WUD!

17 November 2014 - Nicola Dunlop

World Usability Day event

Inspired by this year’s theme of ‘engagement’ we whipped up a number of in-house activities around UX tools/techniques and new technology for our WUDSters to test for themselves. Our WUD stations consisted of;

  • Mobile Diary Study Hub – discussing the research methodology
  • Responding to Responsive – a ‘Smartlab’ demonstration
  • OSMO – workshop highlighting great UI with mental development
  • Accessibility Testing on iOS devices
  • Panel Discussion around engagement in the online gaming and lottery industry
  • Engagement Booth – persona building and customer journey mapping
  • Games Changers – showcasing the Volkswagen’s Think Blue App

We found the day to be a great success and so a big thanks you to everyone who came along and made our World Usability Day a truly great experience! Great to see you, and it was an absolute pleasure having you along.

With the buzz of activity around the building we hope you found the day to be informative, fun and most of all engaging.

We raised a total of £70 for Marie Curie Cancer Care so a big ‘well done’ is deserved in our joint effort! The winners will be drawn on Tuesday and so ‘watch this space’ to find out who won those juicy prizes!

Safe to say no-one successfully ‘spotted the boss’ although easy to mistake that baby beautiful face for another of our team members!

Thank you to our panel members Abi Reynolds, Ricardo Viana, Stefan Pearson and Tanya Laird for delivering a great discussion around engagement in the online games, entertainment and lottery industry.

Top score in Game Changers proved hard to beat however we were happy to see those getting involved with the Volkswagen’s Think Blue App and OSMO resorting to their inner kid and havingfun!!

For all those who ‘got hitched’ in the engagement booth we would like to say a very heart-felt ‘Congratulations’ and ‘watch this space’ for our WUD personas! It was safe to say the rings went down a treat! Want to find out more…Stay Updated!

We will be releasing a blog everyday and tweeting with  #UV_WUD over the next two weeks around each event to give you a closer look as to what happened on the day and responding to feedback.

Thank you once again, Any further questions or queries around some of the services that were showcased including mobile diary studies, eye-tracking, accessibility and our user vision smart labplease do not hesitate to contact us.

Until next year,

From all of us at User Vision we wish you a Happy World Usability Day! And remember…‘Get Engaged’!
