Overview

Join us on May 18th from 2-4pm at the User Vision Edinburgh office or via Zoom for an exciting event to celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day.

We have 2 events for the afternoon :

1: Panel discussion on digital accessibility & inclusion in practice 2-3 PM. This event will be available for remote attendees via Zoom as well as in-person.

Our panel discussion will be led by User Vision’s Principal Accessibility Consultant, Keith Allan, and will feature industry professionals from public and private sectors sharing their own unique perspectives on digital accessibility and inclusion throughout digital product design.

Our panel will include:

Mark Palmer- Accessibility Lead, Scottish Government

Karen Willox- Digital Product Optimisation Manager, People’s Postcode Lottery

Graham Gunning- Vice Chairman, Triple Tap Tech

Harjit Dhanda- Accessibility Consultant, User Vision

2: Empathy Workshop to experience how disabled users interact with the web 3-4 PM.

This hands-on event is only available to those attending in-person at User Vision’s office.  The most effective way to understand the experience of people with disabilities is to simulate their experience.  We will have four stations to do this including glasses that simulate visual impairments, gloves that simulate motor impairments, and a demonstration of screen readers for desktop and mobile.

You can use our simulation tools to experience your own web sites and apps or others that demonstrate best practices. You can also discuss how to create accessible digital experiences and your own current inclusive design challenges with our accessibility experts. Our Empathy Workshop is a great opportunity to deeply understand the challenges faced by disabled users and the importance of designing accessible digital products.

At User Vision, we understand the importance of creating digital experiences that are accessible to everyone. We believe that accessibility is a moral obligation, and we are committed to spreading awareness about the topic and are proud to offer this event for GAAD.   This event is perfect for anyone interested in accessibility, including those working in tech, design, or marketing, as well as anyone who wants to learn about creating a more inclusive digital world. Don't miss out on this important conversation and be a part of the movement towards a more inclusive digital world.

Register now to secure your spot. Please ensure you book the correct ticket- REMOTE or IN-HOUSE.

Please note – due to limited space in our focus group room, we need to limit the number of attendees to 30 and we would request no more than five attendees from the same company.
