Overview

There will be a 20 minute talk on web accessibility with a focus on addressing the challenges faced by individuals with visual impairments and how to create inclusive digital experiences for everyone.

Our expert speaker will discuss the key principles of accessible web design, demonstrate useful tools, and share practical tips for creating accessible content for people with low vision. We will explore actionable strategies to enhance web accessibility, from key considerations when using a screen reader to optimising content for screen magnification.  Whether you’re a developer, designer, or simply passionate about inclusivity, this session will empower and equip you to make a difference online! Snigdha will be talking at 2:15pm, 2:45pm and 3:15pm.

One of the most effective ways to gain insight into the experiences of users with disabilities is to understand how they interact with digital content. Our empathy workstation we will have four stations to simulate their perspective and the challenges they face. This includes glasses that simulate visual impairments, a demonstration of screen readers for desktop and mobile and an interactive alternative text station. We will also demonstrate different insightful tools and software for understanding the digital experiences of people with low vision.

You can use our simulation tools to experience your own web sites and apps or others that demonstrate best practices. You can also discuss how to create accessible digital experiences and your own current inclusive design challenges with our accessibility experts. Our Empathy Workstation is a great opportunity to deeply understand the challenges faced by people with low vision and the importance of designing accessible digital products.

Don't miss out on this fantastic FREE event and meet other industry professionals, complete with complimentary refreshments.
