Chris has over 20 years commercial experience in usability, accessibility, human factors consultancy and training. Chris has worked with a range of clients including Hewlett Packard, Dell Computers, NCR, Houses of Parliament, Emirates Airline, DirectGov and many other commercial and public sector clients in the UK and abroad.
Chris is Founder and Past President of the Scottish Chapter of the User Experience Professionals’ Association and previously served as the UXPA’s regional coordinator for Europe. He is a member of various professional organisations, including the British Human-Computer Interaction Group (BHCIG).
Chris has served as a Board Member of ScotlandIS, the trade body for the software, IT and creative technology industries for Scotland. He is also on the Steering Committee for the world’s first Master’s degree in Design Ethnography at the University of Dundee which is helping train the ethnographers of the future.
Chris holds a BSc. in Engineering Psychology from Tufts University and a MSc. in Ergonomics from the University of Michigan.
Emma has over 18 years experience in Strategic Marketing and digital fields. Her career spans a wealth of blue chip organisations predominantly in the financial services sector. She also has digital agency experience having established the digital service for Scotland’s largest direct marketing agency.
Emma brings a strategic yet common-sense approach to User Vision, making the world of user experience an understandable and jargon-free experience for our clients. She holds a BA (Hons.) Business Studies with Marketing and the CIM Diploma in Marketing.
Stephen has over 18 years commercial experience in the technology space, most of which has been focused helping organisations to better understand their customers and to design products and services that meet their needs in a usable and engaging way. He has a background in management consulting and technical delivery and has worked with organisations across the UK, Europe, Middle East, SE Asia and the USA, including BSkyB, Amazon, Vodafone, McLaren Automotive, Jumeirah Group, Emirates Airlines, Tesco Bank, Standard Life, Scottish Widows and the NHS.
As UX Director Stephen provides strategic level input to clients, leads the team of consultants in delivering quality insight for clients, and works with the other directors to set the strategic direction of User Vision.
Stephen has a Master’s degree in Human Factors in Information Design, is a member of BCS and UXPA and has spoken at conferences in the UK and internationally.
Abi has over 10 years’ experience in Research & Project Management and for the last 7 has focused usability and user experience. Prior to joining User Vision as a Principal Consultant Abi was UX Research Manager at Paddy Power, Dublin and was involved in the development of a range of gaming and entertainment products for desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Previously Abi set-up and managed a usability lab in National College of Ireland (Dublin). She is particularly interested in exploring (new) UX Research methods and blogs about this in her spare time. Abi has a Bachelors degree in Business & Languages from Strathclyde University, Glasgow and a Masters in Business from Napier University, Edinburgh. She is always looking for opportunities to practice her Spanish and Italian and regularly confuses them both.
Amy is particularly passionate about E-commerce and understanding buyer behaviour.
With a background in sales, Amy joined us from one of Europe’s leading digital agencies where she was a key player in the development of the usability department, introducing Conversion Rate Optimisation, and ensuring the continual integration of usability across all the digital media offerings.
Amy graduated from the University of Stirling with a BA in Psychology and Business. She constantly chases the team for blog articles with bribes of homemade cakes.
With over 10 years’ experience applying a user centred design ethos, Ed is passionate about creating “best in class” experiences. Before joining User Vision Ed was an Accessibility and UX Specialist at RNIB working with a wide range of clients to apply accessibility best practice. Key clients worked with include; RBS Group, Lloyds Banking Group, HSBC, Santander, Barclays, VISA Europe, MasterCard, NCR and the British Council.
Ed has a Masters in Human Factors from the University of Nottingham and is a Registered Member of the Institute of the Ergonomics and Human Factors. He is also a member of several British and International standards groups.
Alan has over 10 years experience in user-centered design roles in large commercial and public-sector organisations. During that time he has co-coordinated and led user-centered design input into major web developments in the financial services and higher education sectors, utilising his practical knowledge of the skills and techniques required to help businesses meet the varying demands of diverse user groups.
Alan completed a BA in English Literature at the University of Sheffield before discovering the wonders of the emerging technology of the web and subsequently completed an MSc in Human Computer Interaction at Napier University in Edinburgh.
Gayle has over 10 years’ experience of designing and delivering user-centred solutions. Prior to joining User Vision Gayle applied these principles to a variety of high-profile ICT projects within the Scottish Government and undertook web design for an Edinburgh agency.
Gayle is fascinated by how people interact with technology and enjoys helping organisations understand their services from an end users perspective, working with the business to apply that insight into innovative ways that really add value and accessible to all. She is also a strong advocate of inclusive design and accessibility standards.
Gayle graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a degree in Textile Design before later transferring her knowledge to the digital space with a post-graduate diploma in Multimedia Technology from Napier University.
Jessica Cameron is an experienced UX researcher and champion for the voice of the user. Prior to joining User Vision she carried out customer experience testing for the City of Edinburgh Council, playing a key role in advancing the Council’s digital first strategy and ensuring visitors had seamless experiences across multiple devices.
Jessica graduated from Stanford University with a PhD in Social Psychology. She is passionate about finding the most effective research tools for a project, and has more than 10 years of experience with both qualitative and quantitative methods.
When she is not busy thinking about the best ways to measure the user experience, Jessica likes to bang on drums and search Edinburgh for acceptable recreations of iconic American foods.
Mark has been helping large organisations make their websites more customer-centric since 2003, with specific experience in the technology, telecommunications, insurance, NGO, and university sectors.
He has a particular interest in improving site navigation and information architecture using quantitative techniques to discover customers’ top tasks and to measure how well websites support their successful completion.
Previously Mark was Principal Analyst with The Customer Respect Group, a Boston-based online customer experience consultancy, and more recently was a Principal UX Consultant with the Customer Carewords group.
Mark has a primary degree in Electronic Engineering and an MA in Technical Communication from the University of Limerick.
Hannah has completed an honours degree in Product Design from Glasgow School of Art, where user experience was the driving factor behind every project. Her skills and knowledge include ethnographic research methods, digital prototyping, service design thinking and multidisciplinary collaboration. Hannah places a strong emphasis on thorough research, and is particularly interested in innovation in public services.
Her final projects at GSA included a digital service for a more collaborative approach to government, and a speculative design for a genetically engineered lollipop that allows the consumer to taste their instincts.
Marie Moyles, UX Analyst
Marie has completed a coding course at CodeClan, Scotland’s first digital skills academy. This was a project based course which she undertook to immerse herself further into the tech industry. Planning for these projects introduced her to Agile principles where focusing on the end user and incorporating good and effective design was key.
Previously, Marie has worked in marketing and worked to communicate brand messages clearly and concisely to existing and potential customers. Researching the needs and wants of target audiences was an important part of her role and she enjoys marrying research with Agile methods learned at CodeClan.
Marie has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Dublin City University and a Masters in Communications, Advertising and Public Relations from University of Ulster, Jordanstown.
Natalie Simpson, UX Analyst
Natalie has over 10 years experience in advertising, financial services, tourism and travel both overseas and in the UK. In the UK she has worked for both the Leith Agency and Baillie Gifford.
Natalie has an honours degree in Economic and Social Studies from the University of Manchester.
Ritticcka has been involved in business development roles for a number of years. Prior to joining User Vision Ritticcka worked in sales roles at both Halifax Bank of Scotland and Capita Life and Pensions, where she also spent time as an analyst in the finance department.
Passionate about sales and marketing, Ritticcka brings her knowledge and experience to User Vision with the goal of generating market awareness and excitement around our valuable UX services.
Outside of work Ritticcka is passionate about beauty and has completed a skincare and bridal makeup course.
Natalie Harris, Marketing Manager
Natalie has over 14 years marketing experience. Prior to User Vision she was the Marketing Manager for luxury hotels in Scotland, including Blythswood Square where she was a key member of the senior team who launched the hotel in 2009.
Natalie has a passion for digital marketing and social media and is helping to develop the User Vision brand online. She is also working to expand awareness of User Vision Focus, the company’s viewing and research facilities, which are housed in our Edinburgh head office.
Natalie is also a massive Dolly Parton fan and dreams of visiting the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
Julie Osborne, Finance Manager
Julie has over 20 years’ finance experience working for a wide variety of companies.
She has been the Financial Controller at User Vision for several years. As well as working with numbers some of the week, the rest of the week she is a Medical Herbalist.
